Fitness Coaching: Analysis of a Developing Profession in Senegal

Initially considered as a simple passion and voluntary commitment, fitness coaching is becoming more professional seems to be real profession in Senegal today. This situation due part the growing demand for activities expressed by large of population. The aim this study take stock coaches Senegal. Specifically, it question analyzing their socio-demographic profiles, levels education training field sport, conditions exercise profession. research based on mixed methodology combining questionnaire survey (n = 124) series 23 semi-structured interviews conducted with actors sector Dakar. results show that supervision mainly characterized male population composed young people high level education. Coaching appears “second” complementsanother occupation. Moreover, “pluriactivity” where ismixed interventions several rooms occupations other sectors.
